TA audio narrative: no outcomes backpacking

If you arrive at a final destination, it’s a sign that you’ve set your sights too low.
– Friedrich Nietzsche

The great philosopher wants us to be wanderers, “though not as a traveler to a final destination: for this destination does not exist.”

  1. Thanks for the great post! Did you use your inreach mini for messaging throughout the Te Araroa? I am debating getting one but have heard that you can’t always get a signal, especially in the Richmond range.

    1. Thanks for the note, Faye. You most definitely want some sort of locator beacon on the TA and, in my opinion, on any solo trek. The only time my signal was spotty was when in thick canopy or deep canyons. It operates by satellite, so you will nearly always have signal. The advantage of the inreach is two way communication. Let me know if you have more questions.
